As I was sitting in front of the computer today catching up on world affairs at the Drudge Report, I was also hearing the cartoon "Curious George" coming from the other room. My kids are really into George...my kids...I love my kids very much. I also worry about them..what kind of world they are going to grow up in.
I firmly believe that God has everything under control, but if you just watched the news and had no faith in God and no context in which to view the world, you would be scared to death I would think.
The pope said what is nothing more than the TRUTH about Islam, and now the greater Muslim world is calling for his execution. They are also saying that ANYONE who insults Islam or the "prophet" should be be-headed. Excuse me, does this crazy reaction only affirm what the pope said. I believe to MY CORE that Islam is evil. Maybe not every practicing Muslim is evil, but every practicing Muslim is practicing an evil religion. I guess I just put a target on my own back....
What a contrast between Islam and Christanity....yet Christianity is always blamed for the worlds problems. I have heard numerous quotes and soundbites this past week after the popes statment to the this effect..."The pope was wrong to say these things about Islam, it's really Christianity that is the terrorist religion". What!! Has this world gone totally nuts? Whats right is wrong and whats wrong is being made right.
Frankly I would be terrified of the future if I did not firmly believe that it was nothing more than a script being played out on a univeral stage. God is the writer and director, he has everything under control and it's all playing out just as he had written it. I believe we are in the last act of this play. There are still some "exciting action sequences" that need to be played out before the last line is delivered by a guy on a white horse and a trumpet call.
