The attached link to a so called "sermon" from Christ Community Church is exactly why I am so concerned about liberalism and liberal theology in the Church.
After searching this website, various sermons and prayers for quite some time, I found almost zero evidence that this church believes in the divinity of Christ. In fact, on many occasions, I found the exact opposite. Jesus was a great teacher, moral leader....more on the same level with Buddha.
I saw no evidence that this church is anything more than a weekly gathering of liberal activists attempting to rewrite scripture to suit their own "progressive" goals of all inclusive tolerance for all alternative lifestyles. I was truly taken aback by the lack of of even the word Jesus Christ.
I knew that this church was liberal, but not until looking into it a little bit, did I realize how liberal. I think this church is pretty much the culmination of what can happen when we allow ourselves to be blinded by the liberal theology that can be so prevalent these days. It's the era of toleration at all costs. Being all inclusive is a religion in itself to many people now.
I am for tolerance as long as the truth is presented as the truth and not an outdated social and religious rule to be ignored if you don't agree with it.
I just personally think that liberal theology is a very very dangerous thing. People that tend to be liberal in life are liberal in theology. They don't take the Word of God literally, they think it is just a mixture of metaphors and myths mixed in with some moral teachings that mean different things to different people based on ones point of view.

We've been discussing some of the very same issues in our study of Galatians on Sunday mornings. (see chapter 1 and Paul's warning about false doctrine) One of the most dangerous things many churches today are doing is making light of the gospel -- not preaching about sin, Christ's death, the blood, and hell. It's all about "come to Jesus and life will be great and all your problems will be fixed". He can fix your problems, but many people are missing the point that repentance is SO KEY! I've learned the most important thing is to stay focused on God's Word at all times, especially when looking into what others believe. Even if I admire the person teaching/speaking, it's always important to line it up with God's Word. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this subject.
